I love to read, and each year I set a Reading Challenge on goodreads. (Follow me here) From the discussions we've had in previous classes, I know some of you are also big readers, so I thought I'd put together a recommended reading list for you! Some of these are pretty new, and some I've been rereading for a while!

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert - read approx 2010

A friend gave me this, and I rolled my eyes. I'd seen reviews of it when it first came o...

Anxiety is something that I think we all suffer with to some extreme, at some point in our lives. That feeling of panic, low self esteem, anger and defeat, also maybe manifesting in physical symptoms, can be crippling when it comes to trying new things, meeting new people, or just getting on with your every day life.

The simple act of slowing down, deep breathing, and taking a bit of time out can sometimes help in the here and now, but what can we do in the...

January seems like a great time to Declutter, fresh starts and all that! Visual clutter can be a source of great anxiety and stress, and remind you that there's also something that needs to be done around the home. Clear work space, clear mind, right? Sometimes it's really hard to let things go when you just get used to them being around - but its important to really think about, is this serving a purpose, do I need it, and even better - do I even want this...

A few people this week have asked me about the song I've been using for Savasana recently, Ra Ma Da Say by Snatum Kaur.

'Ra Ma Da Sa Say Se So Hung' is a powerful mantra used in Kundalini Yoga, used for healing. A mantra is a word or sentence which is repeated over and over - the idea is that the mind is focused on this mantra, so any thoughts or worries playing on the mind are temporarily forgotten. Mantras can be used in Yoga and Meditation for this purpo...

Practiced for more than 2,500 years, mindfulness has its roots in Buddhist spiritual teachings of the East, although more recently it has found popularity in the West as a secular practice for well-being. I did a course in Mindfulness back in 2015, but more recently I have been trying to apply it to my everyday life - how I eat, how I work, how I teach yoga, and how I talk to and treat both myself and those around me.

But what really is mindfulness?

This month I held a free class and invited in local photographer, Martin Carroll, to take some pictures! I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that came along, and please feel free to share the images!

Myself and Ian recently spent 4 days in beautiful Denmark and Sweden, visiting friends, and exploring! I've always fancied going to the Nordic countries and we both really loved it there - I could definitely imagine living there myself, especially in Copenhagen! I loved the clean, fresh air, the efficiency and how everything just worked, the ease to be vegan and find good food, the friendliness of everyone we met, the fact that the cities weren't ridiculous...

I'm currently 13 days into Sugar Free February - and so far, so good! I've done No Sugar before, but usually only for a week or so in December in anticipation of all the goodies ready for Christmas!

This time I'm maybe not being as strict, I have been having raw Nakd bars here and there, and raw chocolate, although which doesn't contain any processed sugar, sometimes has sugar in other forms, such as coconut or agave. (Find my recipe for Raw Millionaire's S...

I'm a proud vegan. Not one of those vegan police types but a happy-to-answer-questions-if-you-ask type. And I'll cook you an awesome vegan curry. I've been vegan now over 7 years, and vegetarian almost 20. Wow that makes me feel old!

So I'm truly loving and embracing the Veganuary trend - where you pledge to go vegan for one month - and see where it leads. I went vegan for a bet, just to see if I could do it! I cheese and dairy binged the week before and fel...

It's that time of year again when we're all bombarded with advertising campaigns telling us we need to eat better, exercises more, and generally live a miserable boring life. I think, life's too short! We should never deny ourselves what we really want, as we only live one life. The key is balance, and I believe that can be applied to all aspects of life, whether food, exercise, work and play!

And speaking of balance, what better then yoga? The word 'yoga'...
